My Favorite Bible Story: David and Goliath 

Out of all the powerful stories in the Bible, one that has always spoken deeply to me is the story of David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17). It’s more than just a tale of an underdog defeating a giant—it's a powerful reminder of what true faith and courage look like in the face of fear.

David was young. He wasn’t a trained soldier, didn’t have armor, and didn’t match Goliath’s size, strength, or experience. But what he did have was unshakable faith in God. While others saw a giant too big to defeat, David saw a challenge too big for God to miss. He walked out with a sling and five stones—but more importantly, with total trust in the Lord.

This story reminds me that:

• I don’t need to be the strongest or most qualified to face life’s battles.

• When I stand in faith, I’m never standing alone.

• Giants—whether they’re fears, doubts, struggles, or setbacks—can fall.

There have been moments in my life when I’ve felt outmatched, unsure, or overwhelmed. But this story always brings me back to the truth: God is bigger than any giant I’ll ever face.

If God could use a shepherd boy with a sling to defeat a warrior, imagine what He can do through you—right now, right where you are.
