Yevgeny Fedorovich Stankovich ( Ukrainian: Evgen Fedorovich Stankovich ; born 1942 ) is a Soviet and Ukrainian composer and teacher.

Head of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine ( 2005 - 2010 ), Head of the Board of the Union of Composers of Ukraine ( 1990 - 1993 ), Professor and Head of the Department of Composition of the National Music Academy of Ukraine. P. I. Tchaikovsky (since 1988 ). People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR ( 1986 ) Hero of Ukraine ( 2009 ).

Born on September 19 , 1942 in the city of Svaliava ( Transcarpathian region , Ukrainian SSR , USSR ).

He studied at the Uzhgorod Musical College, then at the Lvov State Conservatory named after N. V. Lysenko ( 1962 - 1963 , composition class of Adam Soltys ) and at the State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky ( 1965 - 1970 , composition class of B. N. Lyatoshinsky and Miroslav Skorik ).

• In 1971 - 1977  - at creative work; worked as an editor at the publishing house "Musical Ukraine" ( 1970 - 1976 ).
• Since 1976  - Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Kiev organization of the Union of Composers of Ukraine.
• Since 1979  - Deputy Chairman of the Board, since 1984  - Secretary of the Board, in 1989 - 1992  - Chairman, since 1992  - Secretary of the ICU.
• Since 1988  - Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR of the 11th convocation, simultaneously teaching at the National Music Academy (former conservatory).
• In 1989 - 1991  - People's Deputy of the USSR from the USSR IC , was a member of the Interregional Deputy Group.
• In 1993 - 1995  - Member of the Board of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
• In 1990 - 1993 and 2004 - 2010  - Chairman of the ICU .

He has been working as a composer since 1966 , he wrote 6  symphonies , 12 chamber symphonies, the opera When the Fern Blooms, 6  ballets , a significant number of oratorios, chamber-vocal and instrumental works, as well as music for 6 performances and more than 100 films. Stankovic's works have been performed in concert halls in Canada , the United States , Germany , France , Spain , China , the Philippines and Eastern Europe.

In 1992 he headed the jury of the First International Contemporary Music Festival in Canada. In 1996 he was composer-in-residence of the Canton of Bern , Switzerland .

In 2017, he headed the organizing committee of the All-Ukrainian Open Musical Olympiad "Voice of the Country" .

Stankovic's works have been recorded in many countries, including such companies as Melodiya , Analecta, ASV and Naxos.
