    Solution: 2x-16=6x-6+5; 2x-16=6x-1; -16+1=6x-2x; -15=4x; x=-15/4; x=-3 3/4

  2. A number plus 1/3 that number plus 2 less than twice that number equal to 12. What is the number?
    Let the number be x. Then: x+1/3x+2x+2= 12; x+1/3x+2x= 10; 3*(x+1/3x+2x)= 10*3; 3x+x+6x= 30; 7x=30; x=30/7; x=4 2/7

  3. A camera is on sale for 20% that results in $30 savings. What was the original price?
    Solution: 0.2x=30; x=30/0.2; x=$150
